Cappuccino coffee with cream, London
One of life's little pleasures served to perfection. It's not so much the small and taste of fresh coffee that delights, but more so the café lifestyle of conversation with strangers and listening to the beat of life around me that enriches the moments. This particular shot was taken in a relaxed National Geographic shop with a café just around the corner from Trafelga Square London. 3MPix: Fuji film 1500

DRAWINGS
Drawings have been produced using Faber-Castell artist pen, Staedler pigment liner pen, Pilot drawing pen, bic black pen. Initial draft work using Rotring trio-pen (lead). Both water colour and sketch paper have been used. A number of techniques have been applied to complete the final work. Sometimes I will sketch out a rough working at the location of a subject to establish composition and perspective. At this time I will usually work out the direction of shadow and produce a tone guide. I will also take photographic evidence including details of complicated structures to assist in producing the detail at the finishing stages of the work. I usually remove pencil workings when the work is completed to clean up a finished artwork. I have always appreciated pen and ink drawing, I like the contrast and the detail. I also enjoy the effects that can be created and marvel at the old masters and their engravings.

Drawing Tablet | Digital Painting
Artwork produced using Bamboo Drawing Tablet and a variety of drawing packages including Photoshop, Illustrator, Serif Draw 5, Bryce 5. I use a Sony Vaio 17" Laptop as many artworks are done in coffee shops. I am learning new techniques all the time, sometimes inventing new methods of producing what I need to create. I will use a Fuji film 1500 10mpix digital camera for the photography, an Canon A4 flat bed scanner to produce and manipulate work for best effects. Inspiration comes from within, though I am inspired from what I see around me. I take visual notes all the time and scribble these out whenever I can. What I envisage is not always what I get and this can be frustrating. When I finish work I am generally disappointed that I have not created what I saw in my head. Many ideas I have are born from dreams I have had and were animated or alive and moving images. I get great satisfaction from digital art and will continue producing images.

Painting
Paintings produced using water colour, oil paint, acrylic, aquarelle pencil. I use water colour paper, board and canvas for my work. I started painting with oil at an early age and enjoy being able to move and mix the colour's to best effect. I enjoy the depth that can be achieved using oils. Water colour painting I find is a very gentle method of producing art work. I will generally sketch out a picture and then apply the wash, however, I like painting then drawing over the top as this does not restrain the watercolouring. I will as a general rule over paint only three times as the effect is lost with more and the paper sometimes will deteriate quickly.
